A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos/innovációs rendezvény bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. A pályázat keretében két konferenciát szeretnék meglátogatni: a 2022. szeptemberében megrendezésre kerülő European Muscle Conference (EMC), illetve a 2023. februárjában rendezendő Biophysical Society Annual Meeting rendezvényét (BPS). Mindkét konferencia szakterületünk elismert, rangos eseménye. Az EMC-t a European Society of Muscle Research rendezi, a legnagyobb szervezet, amely az Európában izomkutatással foglalkozó szakembereket tömöríti. Ennek megfelelően az EMC az európai izomkutatók legrangosabb tudományos fóruma. A Biophysical Society Annual Meeting az amerikai Biophysical Society szervezésében jön létre, amely a világ egyik legnagyobb biofizika témájú konferenciája. Itt szélesebb tématerületről a legújabb technikák segítségével végzett kísérletek eredményeit mutatják be. A biofizikai kutatások szinte minden szereplője megjelenik itt. Az egyik elsősorban az európai, a második főként az amerikai, illetve más tengerentúli kollegákkal történő kapcsolattartás, kollaboráció-építés céljából is kiváló lehetőség. Egy nemrégiben indult kutatási téma keretében a mechanoszenzitív Piezo1 kalciumcsatorna vázizomban, illetve annak kórós állapotaiban betöltött szerepének tisztázását tűztük ki célul. A Piezo1 csatornák kutatása újkeletű (maguk a csatornák (Piezo1 és Piezo2) felfedezése is alig több mint egy évtizede történt), és élénken vizsgált terület. Így eredményeink mielőbbi, nemzetközileg elismert fórumokon történő bemutatása növelheti tudományos elismertségünket. Remélhetőleg elismert folyóiratokban való közléshez, illetve pályázati lehetőségekhez is hozzásegíthetnek ezek a szereplések. Amennyiben a szervezőbizottság a beküldött anyagot előadásra választja ki, mindkét esetben előadást szeretnék tartani, vagy poszterbemutató formájában ismertetni eredményeinket. A konferenciákon PhD hallgatómmal együtt szeretnék utazni (Szabó László), így elősegíteni az Ő bekapcsolódását is a nemzetközi tudományos közéletbe.
A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a látogatni tervezett nemzetközi rendezvényről, illetve a részvétel céljáról, várható eredményeiről. A tudományos kutatással foglalkozó szakemberek számára fontos, és előrehaladásuk szempontjából is lényeges a tudományos konferenciákon való részvétel. A pályázat keretében meglátogatni kívánt két konferencia (the European Muscle Conference Prágában, illetve a Biophysical Society Annual Meeting San Diegoban) az izomkutatás területén biofizikai kutatásokat végző szakemberek számára a legrangosabb eseményeket jeletik. Ezeken a rendezvényeken megismerhetjük a tématerületünk legújabb eredményeit, a legújabb technikai fejlesztéseket, illetve bemutathatjuk saját munkánkat is a nemzetközi tudományos közösségnek. A személye eszmecserék együttműködések alapját teremthetik meg. A két konferencián előadással vagy poszterbemutatóval szeretnék részt venni. Ezek alapján olyan hasznos visszajelzéseket kaphatunk, ami tovább emelheti kutatómunkánk színvonalát, illetve elősegíti rangos tudományos folyóiratokba történő megjelentetését. Mivel a megjelenő publikációk további pályázatok, és a tudományos előmenetel szempontjából is lényegesek, ezeket is előmozdíthatják. A konferenciákon PhD hallgatómat is szeretném bevezetni a tudományos közéletbe.

Presentation of the international scientific/innovation event to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. In this project, I would like to attend two conferences: the European Muscle Conference (EMC) in September 2022 and the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting (BPS) in February 2023. Both conferences are recognized, prestigious events in our field. EMC is organized by the European Society of Muscle Research, the largest organization that brings together muscle research professionals in Europe. Accordingly, EMC is the most prestigious scientific forum for muscle researchers in Europe. The Biophysical Society Annual Meeting is organized by the American Biophysical Society, one of the largest conferences on biophysics in the world. Here, the results of experiments using the latest techniques from a broader topic area are presented. Almost all researcher in biophysical research appear here. The first conference is an excellent opportunity to keep in touch with European colleagues, the second mainly with American and other overseas colleagues, and to build collaborations. In a recent research topic, we aimed to elucidate the role of the mechanosensitive Piezo1 calcium channel in skeletal muscle and its pathological conditions. Research on Piezo1 channels is a newcomer (the channels themselves (Piezo1 and Piezo2) have been discovered for just over a decade) and is an area of intense research. Thus, presenting our results as soon as possible in internationally recognized forums can increase our scientific recognition. Hopefully, these appearances can also help to publish in recognized journals and grant applications. If the organizing committee selects the submitted material for presentation, in both cases I would like to give an oral presentation or in the form of a poster presentation. I would like to travel to the conferences with my PhD student (László Szabó), thus promoting his involvement in international scientific life.
Summary and aims of the project for a general audience Provide a short, general introduction to the international event to be visited, the purpose of the participation, and its expected results. Participation in scientific conferences is important for the stimulation of research by scientific researchers and is essential for their progress. The two conferences to be attended in this project (the European Muscle Conference in Prague and the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting in San Diego) mark the most prestigious events for biophysical researchers in the field of muscle research. At these events, we can learn about the latest results in our field, the latest technical developments, and present our own work to the international scientific community. Personal exchanges can form the basis of collaborations. I would like to attend the two conferences with an oral or poster presentation. Based on these, we can receive useful feedback that can further raise the standard of our research work and facilitate its publication in prestigious scientific journals. As publications are crucial for later grant applications and also relevant to scientific progress, these can also be promoted by the participation on these conferences. At the conferences, I would also like to introduce my PhD student to scientific public life.

Az EMC az európai izomkutatók legrangosabb tudományos fóruma. A Biophysical Society Annual Meeting az amerikai Biophysical Society szervezésében jön létre, amely a világ egyik legnagyobb biofizika témájú konferenciája.
Az EMC-n szóbeli plenáris előadást tartottam, a BPS-en poszterbemutató előadást. Mindkét konferencián komoly érdeklődés övezte a munkánkat.
Az egyik elsősorban az európai, a második főként az amerikai, illetve más tengerentúli kollegákkal történő kapcsolattartás, kollaboráció-építés céljából is kiváló lehetőség volt és azóta már tervezünk is közös munkát.
Az konferenciákon gyűjtött ismeretek felhasználásával, illetve a tanácsok, technikák alkalmazásával remélhetőleg elismert folyóiratokban való közléshez járul hozzá a részvételem, illetve pályázati lehetőségekhez is hozzásegíthetnek ezek a szereplések.
A konferenciákon PhD hallgatómmal együtt vettem részt (Szabó László), elősegítve bekapcsolódását is a nemzetközi tudományos közéletbe.

I attended two conferences as part of the grant: the European Muscle Conference (EMC) in September 2022 and the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting (BPS) in February 2023.
The EMC is the most prestigious scientific forum for muscle researchers in Europe. The Biophysical Society Annual Meeting is organised by the American Biophysical Society, one of the largest biophysical conferences in the world.
I gave an oral plenary talk at the EMC and a poster presentation at the BPS. There was considerable interest in our work at both conferences.
One was mainly for European colleagues, the second mainly for American and other overseas colleagues, and it was an excellent opportunity for networking and collaboration building, and we have been planning joint work since then.
By using the knowledge gained from the conferences and applying the advice and techniques, my participation will hopefully contribute to publication in recognised journals and may also help to secure funding opportunities.
