kutatási eredmények (magyarul)
1. Sikerült memutatni, hogy a felül nyitott falakkal rekeszekre osztott konténerben rázott szemcsés anyag viselkedésének leírására használt modell (a kisérleteket a Maxwell démon szemléltetésére végeztek el) egy általános statisztikus fizikai modellel azonos és így egyből alkalmazhatő fázisdiagramok meghatározására. 2. Három dimenziós triaxiális nyírás szimulálásával megmutattuk, hogy a nyírás módjától és a minta tulajdonságaitól függően milyen nyírási sáv morfológiák alakulhatnak ki. Emellett megmutattuk, hogy a kezdeti feltételektől függetlenül a nyírási sávban egy kritikus kitöltöttség alakul ki, ami a részecskék közti súrlódási együtthatótól függ. 3. 4. A fenti model alapjául szolgáló elvet sikerült kétdimenziós biaxiális nyírásra is alkalmazni, és leírni az ott előforduló nyírási sáv konfigurációkat és magyarázatot adni a szimulációkban és kisérletekben megfigyelhető feszültséghullámzásokra.
kutatási eredmények (angolul)
1. We showed that the model used to describe the behaviour of the granular material shaken in a container with open top bins (originally used to show Maxwell daemon) belongs to the class of a model of statistical physics. The solution already present in that field permitted the immediate calculation of phase diagrams. 2. By simulating 3 dimensional triaxial shear we showed how the shear band morphologies depend on the way of shear and the initial sample preparation. The volume fraction inside the shear bands is constant independent of the shear method and the initial conditions. 3. We developed a stochastic, mesoscopic model which is capable of describing the displacement, volume fraction field during quasi static shear. We tried it on the modified Couette cell where no other theory was able to describe the results of the experiments and good quality data was available. We also applied the model on other geometries successfully. The publication of these results is under way. 4. The principle which is the basis of the above model was also used successfully to the two dimensional biaxial shear where we could describe and predict the shear band configurations and the stress fluctuations.
