A kutatási projekt célja Pascal Gondolatok című művének filozófiai rekonstrukciója volt. Ehhez kapcsolódóan vállaltam a Gondolatok újraértelmezését filozófiai szempontból, a Gondolatokhoz kommentárok írását, továbbá a mű új magyar fordításának elkészítését, végül pedig évente egy-egy tanulmány megírását és megjelentetését hazai vagy nemzetközi kötetekben és folyóiratokban. A projekt időszaka alatt elkészült a Gondolatok fordítása, amelynek megjelentetését az Atlantisz kiadó vállalta. A kommentárokból kialakult egy önálló monografikus jellegű könyv, amely megjelenés alatt áll az Attraktor kiadónál (címe: Blaise Pascal. A természettudománytól a vallási apológiáig, a kézirat cca. 250 oldal). A projekthez tartozó kutatásaim eredményeit tizenegy tanulmányom tartalmazza, amelyből kettő magyar, kettő angol és hét francia nyelven jelent meg (összesen 148 publikált oldal). A kutatási időszak alatt Franciaországban három jelentős nemzetközi konferencián és három hazai konferencián vettem részt, továbbá két előadást tartottam a Sorbonne-Paris I Egyetemen mindkét esetben ötven főt meghaladó közönség előtt. 2007-ben pedig megjelent Párizsban a Publication de la Sorbonne kiadónál a doktori disszertációm könyv változata Le rationalisme de Pascal címmel (300 o.). Az elért eredmények fényében kijelenthetem, hogy a tervezett projekt sikeresen megvalósult, a vállalásokat teljesítettem.

The objective of the research project was to write a philosophical reconstruction of Pascal’s Pensées. As elements of this enterprise, I promised to reinterpret the Pensées from a philosophical perspective, to write an extensive commentary to the text, to complete a new translation of the text into Hungarian, and finally to write and publish one article in Hungarian or in international academic publications each year. During the four years of the project, I have completed the translation of the Pensées which is to be published at the Atlantisz press. The commentary has grown into an independent book (monography) which is forthcoming at the Attraktor Press (titled Blaise Pascal: From natural science to religious apology, cc. 250 pp). As a spin-off to the research project, I have published 11 articles: two in Hungarian, two in English, seven in French (148 pp altogether). During this the four years I have participated in three major international conferences in France and three in Hungary, and presented two lectures at the Sorbonne (Paris I) for an audience of fifty each time. In 2007 the Publications de la Sorbonne press published the book version of my PhD dissertation, titled Le rationalisme de Pascal (300 pp). In view of all this, I claim that the project has been completed successfully.
