magyar összefoglaló
A pulzáló változócsillagok igen fontos objektumai a modern asztrofizikának. A csillagfejlődési modellek legfontosabb tesztobjektumai, segítségükkel a csillagok abszolút fizikai paramétereit is meghatározhatjuk. Kutatócsoportunk tagjainak a Potsdami Asztrofizikai Intézettel való együttműködése korlátozott hozzáférést enged a STELLA spektroszkópiai robottávcsőhöz, ami néhány indokolt esetben lehetővé teszi számunkra a spektroszkópiai vizsgálatok végzését is.
angol összefoglaló
Pulsating variables are key objects of modern astrophysics. They are test objects of stellar evolution studies, calibration tools of absolute physical parameters. Astroseismology is the most important tool to have an insight into stellar interiors. Notwithstanding their importance we still do not understand and know these stars in full details. E.g., the modulation of RR Lyrae stars, the so-called Blazhko effect has been known since a century, but adequate explanation of the phenomenon is still lacking. Multimode pulsation also needs further observational and theoretical studies. These objects are ideal targets for extensive multicolour photometric observations with the automated 60cm telescope at Svábhegy that is fully at our disposal. With this instrument during the last years we obtained multicolour data of Blazhko stars and a triple mode variable which already led to important discoveries of the modulation/pulsation properties of these stars. These data were the first datasets for Blazhko and multimode variables which were extended enough to study the colour dependence of the different frequency components of light variation. The cooperation of the project members with the Astrophysical Institute Potsdam enables us also to have a limited access to the STELLA robotic spectroscopic telescope to extend our studies to spectroscopy in some dedicated cases.

Adataink máig a Blazhko-csillagok legkiterjedtebb többszín-fotometriai idõsorai. Kifejlesztettük az Inverz Fotometriai Módszert, hogy a többszín-fotometria felhasználásával a Blazhko-ciklus során a csillagok átlagos fizikai paramétereiben bekövetkezõ változásokat kimutathassuk. Eredményeink szerint amikor a pulzáció amplitúdója nagy, a csillagok luminozitása 1-5%-kal nagyobb, mint a moduláció kis amplitúdójú fázisában. A moduláció elõfordulási gyakorisága méréseink szerint kb. 50%, ez minden korábbi vizsgálat eredményénél lényegesen nagyobb. Az aktív csillagok mágneses ciklusait mérések és elméleti munkák alapján egyaránt vizsgáltuk, a felszíni aktivitási jelenségeket néhány csillagnál részletesen tanulmányoztuk.
kutatási eredmények (angolul)
The project's results have been published in 29 reviewed journal articles and in 10 conference poster/talk presentations. Until now, 134 independent citations of these publications appeared already in the literature. Most of the results utilized multicolor CCD observations obtained with an automatic 60-cm telescope and archive photometric data. Our recent observations yielded the first time series for Blazhko variables that were suitable to study the 'fine structure' of the Fourier spectrum of the data. Many previously unknown features of the light-curve modulation (quintuplets, septuplets, multiperiodic modulations, temporal appearence of the Blazhko effect, etc.) have been detected for the first time. Our light curves are still the most extended multicolor data-sets ever obtained for a Blazhko variable. To exploit these data, we have developed the Inverse Photometric Method to reveal the underlying variations of the mean physical parameters during the Blazhko cycle. The results have shown that the luminosity of each star in the studied sample is 1-5% brighter at the large amplitude phase of the modulation than in the small pulsation amplitude phase. We have determined an incidence rate of the modulation as high as ~50%, which is much larger than any previous estimation. Magnetic activity cycles of active stars have been observationally and theoretically studied, and the surface activity phenomena of some variables have been investigated in details.
