Egyik legújabb alkalmazási területe az úgynevezett eszközfüggetlen kvantumprotokollok területe, amelyben Bell-egyenlőtlenségeket sértő kvantumkorrelációk segítségével a protokollban szereplő készülékek kvantumosságának mértékére következtethetünk, mintegy fekete dobozként kezelve azokat.
A projekt végső célja a kvantuminformáció elmélet eszközfüggetlen keretének kidolgozása lenne.
angol összefoglaló
The field of quantum information lies in the crossroad of quantum physics and information theory. This field exploits quantum effects at the level of individual quantum particles, which may help devise information applications without any classical counterpart. These novel applications comprise novel device-independent tasks, which build on the awareness that the strength of non-local quantum correlations quantified by the amount of violation of Bell inequalities enables to measure the quantumness of a device without resorting to any knowledge on the devices used in the protocol. This concept enables provably secure random number generation, key distribution in the presence of untrusted parties, or self-testing of quantum circuits.
In the present project we wish to demonstrate that a number of other tasks such as measuring dimension of single systems, quantum state discrimination, state tomography can be performed in a device-independent manner. Further, we wish to show that by assuming that the dimension of the underlying Hilbert space is known (that is, in a semi-device-independent scheme), one can decide on the type of quantum measurements carried out. We also wish to tackle problems related to the experimental feasibility of device-independent tasks, such as lowering the detection efficiency threshold in order to close the detection loophole with present-day-technology. Then, the ultimate aim of the project would be to develop a device-independent framework for assessing quantum information.

Pályázatomban a kvantuminformáció elmélet egy ígéretes alkalmazási területét, a kvantuminformáció ú.n. eszközfüggetlen feldolgozásának lehetőségeit vizsgáltam. A cél ezen keretben olyan kvantumprotokollok előállítása, amelyben Bell-egyenlőtlenségeket sértő (ú.n. nemlokális) kvantumkorrelációk segítségével a protokollban szereplő készülékek kvantumosságának mértékére következtethetünk, mintegy fekete dobozként kezelve azokat.

The focus of my project concerns the device-independent framework of quantum information. The field of quantum information lies in the crossroad of quantum physics and information theory and the device-independent approach to it has been very fruitful in the last couple of years. Novel protocols became available, which build on the awareness that the strength of non-local quantum correlations quantified by the amount of violation of Bell inequalities enables to measure the quantumness of a device in a black box manner. Our main goal was to explore the rich structure of entanglement and nonlocal properties of multipartite quantum systems, which play a key role in device-independent quantum protocols based on multipartite correlations. In the project several protocols have also been devised which are capable of certifying entangled measurements or estimating the dimensionality of quantum systems.
