A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései szakemberek számára Itt írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit a témában jártas szakember számára. A magyar katolikus püspökkari tanácskozások európai szinten is fontosak és előkelő helyet foglalnak el, hiszen bizonyíthatóan már 1608-ban tartottak tanácskozásokat, amelyeknek középkori előzményei voltak. Ez bizonyítéka egyúttal európai beágyazottságunknak is. Az 1919–1948 közötti püspökkari konferenciák anyagai korábban már kiadásra kerültek, azonban kis példányszámban jelent meg és ma már nem hozzáférhető. A célkitűzésünk az volt, hogy hiteles, egykorú források kerüljenek a szakemberek kezébe az 1945–1948 közötti időből, melyek az egyház szempontját tükrözik. A püspökkari tanácskozások jegyzőkönyvei páratlan források, amelyek ezúttal bővített formában, lábjegyzetekkel ellátva jelennek meg, és latin nyelvű szövegek fordításait is tartalmazza majd.
Mi a kutatás alapkérdése? Ebben a részben írja le röviden, hogy mi a kutatás segítségével megválaszolni kívánt probléma, mi a kutatás kiinduló hipotézise, milyen kérdéseket válaszolnak meg a kísérletek. A kutatás alapkérdése ebben az esetben az, hogyan éli meg a katolikus egyház a nagy társadalmi változásokat és milyen válaszokat ad a felvetett problémákra. Az 1945-ös esztendő ugyanis nem csupán politikai, egyházpolitikai, hanem személyi változásokat is hozott. Mindezek a tükröződnek a jegyzőkönyvekben. A magyar katolikus püspökkari tanácskozások a második világháború utáni sorsdöntő idők által felszínre hozott problémákkal foglalkoztak. A püspökök nem kerülhették meg a politikai helyzet elemzését, hiszen maguk is az adott történelmi keretek között éltek, és annak ismeretében adtak útmutatást a rájuk bízott híveknek. Az egyháznak az állammal való együttműködési készsége nem kérdőjelezhető meg a kezdeti időszakban. A földbirtokok államosítása érzékenyen érintette az egyházat, hiszen a különféle intézmények anyagi alapjukat veszítették el. Az intézmények közül leginkább az egyházi iskolák sorsa miatt aggódott a püspöki kar, és ezért foglalkozott olyan sokszor velük. Az iskolák megtartása érdekében az egyház bekapcsolódott ezek átszervezésébe, és kereste az új igényekhez igazodó formákat. Mi a kutatás jelentősége? Röviden írja le, milyen új perspektívát nyitnak az alapkutatásban az elért eredmények, milyen társadalmi hasznosíthatóságnak teremtik meg a tudományos alapját. Mutassa be, hogy a megpályázott kutatási területen lévő hazai és a nemzetközi versenytársaihoz képest melyek az egyediségei és erősségei a pályázatának! A jegyzőkönyvek forrásként való kiadása, lábjegyzetelése segíthet megérteni egy adott kor rendkívül bonyolult összefüggéseit. A függelékbe néhány új jelentés került be, amelyek nem viselik magukon a jegyzőkönyvek jellegzetességeit, ezért kerültek e címszó alá. A mellékletben a tanácskozások ideje, helye és elnöke külön szerepelnek, a résztvevők köre, a memorandumok, pásztorlevelek, nyilatkozatok is olvashatók. Ez a kiadás annyiban is új, hogy az egyes egyházmegyék ordináriusainak életrajzai is közlésre kerülnek, továbbá névmutatóval is bővül a tárgymutató mellett.
A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Ebben a fejezetben írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit alapműveltséggel rendelkező laikusok számára. Ez az összefoglaló a döntéshozók, a média, illetve az érdeklődők tájékoztatása szempontjából különösen fontos az NKFI Hivatal számára. Az 1945–1948 közötti püspökkari konferenciák jegyzőkönyvei a magyar nép sorsdöntő éveiben keletkezett források. Jelentőségüket az adja, hogy egykorúak az eseményekkel, és tükrözik a katolikus egyház reflektálásait ezekre az eseményekre. Az érdeklődő olvasó, kutató bepillantást nyerhet az egyház belső életébe, megismerheti főpapjainak hozzáállását a politikai változásokhoz. A jegyzőkönyvek tükrözik azokat a nehéz politikai körülményeket, sorsdöntő változásokat, amelyek közepette élt az egyház. Ezek közül az egyik legjelentősebb a földbirtokok államosítása, amely rendkívül érzékenyen érintette az egyházat, mivel a különféle intézmények anyagi alapjukat veszítették el. Az intézmények közül leginkább az egyházi iskolák sorsa miatt aggódott a püspöki kar, és ezért foglalkozott olyan sokszor velük. A katolikus körök, egyesületek felszámolása is napirendre kerültek. A jegyzőkönyvek közlésén kívül érdekesek az ügynökjelentések is, amelyek függelékként kerültek be a kötetbe.

The conferences of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate take prominent place and represent high importance at European level as following their meetings in the Medieval Times recorded discussions were held in 1608. Our European relevance is evidently represented by this fact. Although Minutes of the conferences of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate between 1919 and 1948 were published before, they are no longer available in the libraries. The aim of this study was to provide professional scolars authentic, contemporary sources of the period between 1945-1948, which reflect the Church's point of view. The Minutes of the conferences of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate are of unique sources that time, including Latin text with translations. The planned edition is extended in format as well as complied with footnotes.
What is the major research question? Describe here briefly the problem to be solved by the research, the starting hypothesis, and the questions addressed by the experiments. The main question of the research is how lives the church in the midst of big social changes and what answers it gives for the raised questions. 1945 brought not only political, church political changes, but personal changes also. These are reflected in the minutes. The conferences of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate dealt with the crucial problems of the post war period. The bishops had to analyse these problems and give instruction to their believers.

The edition of minutes of the conferences of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate helps to understand the difficult context of the events. In the appendix some new reports will be published. A list of the time, place and presidents of the conferences will be published also beside memoranda, pastoral letters and declaration. Novelty of the new edition is the publishing of biographies of ordinaries and index of names.

The minutes of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate between 1945-1948 are crucial sources of the Hungarian people’s fateful years. Their importance lies in the fact that the minutes were recorded at same time of the events, and they provide simultaneous reflections of the Catholic Church for the events as well. The publication not only gives insight into the inner life of the church, but it lets the readers, researchers to know about prelates attitude to political changes, as well as the difficult political circumstances, crucial changes happened. As a result of the nationalization of the most significant lands and schools various institutions lost their assetts, financial basis. The issue of the nationalized religious schools concerned mostly the Episcopacies, therefore dealt with them so many times. The issues of eliminations of Catholic circles and associations were also on the agenda. In addition, the planned publication contains the agent reports as an appendix to the volume.

„A magyar katolikus püspökkari tanácskozások története és jegyzőkönyvei 1945–1948 között” című kötet a 113469 PUB-F projekt keretében, a szerződésben vállaltak szerint megjelent (az MTA BTK Történettudományi Intézet gondozásában, 605 oldalon, a tervezett 300 példány helyett 500 példányban). A püspökkari tanácskozások jegyzőkönyvei a magyar katolikus egyház 19-20. századi történetének legfontosabb forrásai. Az 1945-től 1948-ig terjedő időszak jegyzőkönyvei korábban már megjelentek, a kötet azonban mára hiánycikké vált, emiatt szükségesnek láttuk, hogy a kötet anyagát újra kiadjuk. Az újrakiadásban egy kibővített, jegyzetekkel ellátott, a korszerű forráskiadás követelményeinek megfelelő gyűjteményt vehet kézbe az olvasó. A jegyzőkönyveket egy történeti bevezető és alapvető egyháztörténeti információkat tartalmazó melléklet egészíti ki. A megjelent kötetből az országos és egyetemi könyvtárak számára átadott kötelespéldányokon túl az MTA Könyvtára, valamint az MTA Bölcsészettudományi Kutatóközpont intézeteinek könyvtárai kaptak egy-egy példányt.

The book „History and minutes of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate between 1945 and 1948” was published with the financial support of the No. 113469 project according to the conditions of the contract (by the Institute of History, Research Centre for the Humanities, HAS, on 605 pages, in 500 copies instead of 300 planned). The minutes of the Hungarian Catholic Episcopate are the main resources of the history of the Hungarian Catholic Church in the 19-20th century. The minutes of the period between 1945 and 1948 have been published yet but the book is in short supply that is why the new edition became necessary. The new edition provides for the readers a revised collection with footnotes. The minutes are completed with historical introduction and an appendix with useful information on church history. The examples of the book were sent to main national and university libraries and to the Library of the HAS and the libraries of the institutes of the Research Centre for the Humanities, HAS.
