magyar összefoglaló
A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései szakemberek számára
Itt írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit a témában jártas szakember számára.

További igen dinamikusan fejlődő nagyszilárdságú acélcsoport kiemelkedő korrózióállósággal a duplex acélok csoportja, amelyek hegesztésének fő nehézsége a kialakult ausztenit-ferrit fázisarány helyes beállítása.
A fentiek tükrében ezen acélcsoportok hegesztésével kívánok foglalkozni, a különböző hegesztési eljárások alkalmazhatóságával, illetve egyes paramétereik, pl. védőgázkerverék, hegesztőanyagok, áramlefutás stb . mikroszerkezetre gyakorolt hatásaival.

Mi a kutatás alapkérdése?

Mi a kutatás jelentősége?

A kutatás összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára
Ebben a fejezetben írja le a kutatás fő célkitűzéseit alapműveltséggel rendelkező laikusok számára.

További nagyszilárdságú, igen jelentős korrózióállósággal is bíró acélcsoport a duplex acélok csoportja. A megfelelő fázisarány beállítása fontos a megkívánt szilárdság és korrózióállóság elérése érdekében.
A fenti acéltípusok új változatainak hegeszthetőségének vizsgálatai, illetve a hegesztési eljárásváltozatok mikroszerkezetmódosító hatásainak feltárása jelentősen megkönnyítenék ipari alkalmazásukat és szélesebb körű elterjedésüket.
angol összefoglaló
Summary of the research and its aims for experts
Describe the major aims of the research for experts.

To build low weight steel constructions, the development and use of high strength steels and their joining technologies are utmost important. The weldability of high strength steels however has some significant difficulties due to their high alloying element content. The microstructure of the joint is critical for the required mechanical, ductility and corrosion properties. These are especially important in the case of dissimilar welded joints. TRIP (transformation induced plasticity) and TWIP (twinning induced plasticity) steels have a great future potential due to their high tensile strength and ductility, therefore the investigation of their welding is reasonable especially with the welding processes used often in industrial environment for mass production (e.g. GMAW process). An other dynamic developing steel group with high strength and very good corrosion resistance are the duplex steels, where the difficulty is to maintain the right austenite/ferrite phase ratio during and after the welding.
Therefore the aim of my proposed research is to investigate the welding of these steel groups, to determine the changes in the microstructure caused by the different welding techniques and welding parameters (e.g. shielding gas composition, welding materials, current type etc.). After the weld bead geometry measurements optical microscopy of the joint will follow then at higher magnification electron microscopic investigations. Beside the welding technological experiments and their microstructural investigation further mechanical and corrosion tests would be performed and the research proposal would enable an easier and wider usage of these steels.

What is the major research question?
Describe here briefly the problem to be solved by the research, the starting hypothesis, and the questions addressed by the experiments.

In this research the best fitting welding technologies for high strength steels would be investigated, considering the limitations of the processes. The investigated techniques would be focused on the processes available for industrial mass production. Within the high strength steels special interest would be laid in the TRIP (transformation induced plasticity) and TWIP (twinning induced plasticity) steel groups because their high strength and outstanding ductility (for example for automotive industry). Additionally, the highly corrosion resistant duplex steels would be also investigated. First, the changes in the microstructure of these steels caused by the different welding methods and the effects of the different weld parameters on the microstructure should be investigated. After the weld bead geometry measurements optical microscopy (with stereo and inverted microscope) of the joint will follow then at higher magnification electron microscopic investigations. After that the changes in the macroscopic properties like mechanical properties, ductility and corrosion resistance would be connected to the microstructure. The knowledge of these changes and features will enable a better technology planning and wider field of application of these steel groups.

What is the significance of the research?
Describe the new perspectives opened by the results achieved, including the scientific basics of potential societal applications. Please describe the unique strengths of your proposal in comparison to your domestic and international competitors in the given field.

The selected steel groups for this research (TRIP (transformation induced plasticity), TWIP (twinning induced plasticity) and duplex steels has been undergone a very fast development. The tensile strength of thin TRIP and TWIP steel sheets can exceed 1000 MPa with good ductility, and the ever higher alloying element prices (especially that of nickel) drives the steel manufacturer to develop new duplex steel grades.
One of the fastest production method of steel constructions is welding, therefore not only the newly developed and manufactured steel materials, but the welded seams (after he production of the construction) needs to be also investigated. Most welding processes influence significantly the microstructure of the base materials. Therefore the macroscopic properties of the joint (and the welded structure), like mechanical properties ductility, corrosion resistance etc. will be strongly influenced in the welded seem and in the heat affected zones too.
Accordingly after the weld bead geometry measurements optical microscopy (with stereo and inverted microscope) of the joint will follow then at higher magnification electron microscopic investigations. After that the changes in the macroscopic properties like mechanical properties, ductility and corrosion resistance would be connected to the microstructure.
For the production of such steel structures it is highly needed to investigate which welding techniques can be applied effectively, and the knowledge of the influencing parameters of the different processes (like filler metal, heat input, shielding gas etc.) have to be mapped. The knowledge of these changes will enable a better technology planning and wider field of applications, regarding these steel groups.

Summary and aims of the research for the public
Describe here the major aims of the research for an audience with average background information. This summary is especially important for NRDI Office in order to inform decision-makers, media, and others.

If we look around in our close environment, we can find larger and larger, but rather airy steels construction around us: large bridges, cranes and ever lighter and thinner car bodies. These structures can be built due to the development and spreading of high strength steels even in corrosive mediums. These constructions are mainly welded structures. The ever higher strength steels mostly consists of more phases with higher alloying element content which make the welding difficult. It is an important question, if after welding the required mechanical, corrosion and other properties can be maintained consistently. All these properties depend on the microstructure of the different parts of the welded joints. From the high strength steels the group of TRIP and TWIP steels stands out. These alloys are developing fast and they are extremely important for the automobile industry. Their welding is difficult due to the high alloying content and the influence of welding on their microstructure in the joint and on the subsequent mechanical properties.
Another high strength steel group with significant corrosion resistance are the duplex steels. The phase ratio after welding is important to achieve the favorable mechanical and corrosion properties.
To investigate the weldability of the new grades of these steel groups with different welding techniques is important and to understand and how these techniques influence their microstructure is crucial. This knowledge would enable a wider and more intense industrial application of these materials.

kutatási eredmények (angolul)
-TRIP800-TWIP1000 ultra high strength steel (UHSS) joints of MIG-, TIG- and resistance spot welding (RSW) were tested for mechanical and microstructure properties. The etching technique for quantitative metallography of the joints was also developed. The mechanical behavior of the different MIG-welded joints were also determined with micro-tensile specimen. - In case of the welding of high strength duplex stainless steel (DSS), the effects of hydrogen and different ratios of nitrogen in shielding gas were studied, for 2101, 2404, 2505 DSSs. To predict the phase ratio in the heat affected zone an Avrami correlation was established. For autogeneuos TIG welding the correlation between welding parameters, shielding gasses nitrogen content was also established on the weld metals nitrogen content. Also the optimal etching sequence and the methodology for quantitative metallography was determined for the three DSS grades for the heat affected zones, where other techniques can not bee applied, or their application is very circumstantial. - Joints from Cr-Ni+N and two types of Cr-Mn+N alloyed high strength austenitic steels were made and evaluated via TIG- and MIG-welding and MIG-brazing - Multiple unalloyed and low alloyed ultrahigh strength steel sheets were RSW-ed and the joints optimized. With additional literature data two correlations were established to predict the shear-tensile strength of the RSW-ed joints and found to be better than the current standards.
