A pályázatunk célja az volt, hogy folytassuk Bél Mátyás (1684–1749) nagy jelentőségű országleíró művének, a Notitia Hungariae novae című munkának a kritikai kiadását. A műnek Bél életében csak mintegy ötöde, 11 vármegye leírása jelent meg nyomtatásban, a maradék 38 vármegyeleírás kéziratban maradt. A kiadatlan leírások edícióját 10 kötetbe osztva tervezzük. Immár hét kötet kiadását teljesítettük, ebből kettőt, a 6. és 7. kötetet a most befejeződött projektünkben. A 6. kötetben Abaúj, Gömör, Torna és Borsod vármegyék ismertetését jelentettük meg 2020-ban, míg a 7. kötetben Heves, Csongrád, illetve Bács-Bodrog vármegyékét, valamint a jászkun kerületekét, 2023-ban. A két kötet kiadásával maradéktalanul teljesítettük a pályázatban vállalt munkát.
A leírásokat eredeti szöveggel, kritikai és tárgyi jegyzetekkel, illetve részletes bevezetők kíséretében adtuk ki. Bízunk benne, hogy e szövegek publikálása nagy nyereség lesz a történettudomány és más rokontudományok kutatói számára, ahogyan az már a korábbi kötetek esetében bebizonyosodott. Magunk is jelentettünk meg a projekt során olyan tanulmányokat, amelyekben a kiadott szövegeket hasznosítottuk.

The aim of our project was to continue the critical edition of the Notitia Hungariae novae, a major geographical and historical work about Hungary by Mátyás Bél (1684–1749). During Bél's lifetime, only about a fifth of the work, the descriptions of 11 counties, appeared in print, the remaining 38 county descriptions being in manuscript. The unpublished descriptions are planned to be edited in 10 volumes. We have now completed the publication of seven volumes, two of which, Volumes 6 and 7, are part of our recently completed project. Volume 6, published in 2020, covers the descriptions of the counties of Abaúj, Gömör, Torna and Borsod, while Volume 7 (2023) covers the descriptions of the counties of Heves, Csongrád and Bács-Bodrog, as well as the Jászkun districts. With the publication of these two volumes, we have fully fulfilled the work undertaken in the tender.
The descriptions were published with original text, critical and explanatory notes and detailed introductions. We are confident that the publication of these texts will be a great asset to researchers in history and other related disciplines, as has already been demonstrated in the case of previous volumes. We have also published papers in the course of the project, making use of the published texts.
