Final report

Results in Hungarian
Elemeztük a jetszerkezet skálázási tulajdonságait, jetek belső dinamikáját, illetve a spektrumokat nem-extenzív termodinamikai módszerrel.
Results in English
The OTKA FK 131979 project aimed to search for the tiniest droplets of the quark-gluon plasma by exploring collective phenomena and multiple-parton interactions (MPI) in small systems at LHC energies using both light- and heavy-flavor production. The goal was to understand how high-energy proton–proton and proton–lead collisions can exhibit fluid-like signatures, to probe jet formation and fragmentation, and to clarify the role of MPI and the underlying event in both light- and heavy-flavor dynamics. Despite COVID-related restrictions, the team expanded its program, adding jet-related measurements and new theoretical studies from 2022 onward. Topics included b-jet suppression, D–hadron and heavy-flavor electron correlations, charm-pair correlations for ALICE 3, and underlying event effects on heavy-flavor baryons. Scaling properties of jet structures, intra-jet dynamics, and non-extensive thermodynamical analyses were also investigated. The project yielded numerous high-impact results, with over 20 peer-reviewed papers in journals such as JHEP and EPJ C, and major contributions to conferences as well as internal ALICE reviews. The research resulted in three PhD, two MSc, three BSc, and three award-winning TDK theses. Besides investigation of the strong interaction in small systems, the project contributed to the development of the ALICE 3 detector system, ensuring long-term impact on heavy-ion physics at the LHC.
