A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos/innovációs rendezvény bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. Két nemzetközi konferencián szeretnék előadást tartani.
1. A kétévenként megrendezett Digital Humanities Congress nemzetközi konferencia célja a recens digitális bölcsészeti kutatások, technikák és módszerek ismertetése és megvitatása, melyet a Sheffieldi Egyetem Digital Humanities Institute szervez. Itt kivitelezték az elmúlt 30 évben a legtöbb brit digitális bölcsészeti adatbázist és projektet, melyekhez szorosan kapcsolódik az a szövegbányászati projekt, amelyen az elmúlt 4 évben dolgoztam. Ezért szeretném először ezen a nemzetközi konferencián bemutatni a Szegeden fejlesztett AVOBMAT (Analysis and Visulaization of Bibliographic Metadata and Texts, https://avobmat.hu/) digitális bölcsészeti kutatási eszköz végleges verzióját. A szakmai kapcsolatok építése mellett fontos lenne népszerűsíteni az eszközt és visszajelzéseket kapni a további fejlesztési irányok kijelölése miatt is. A konferencián prezentált dolgozatok egy részét közlik a Studies in the Digital Humanities folyóiratban is.
2. A British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (BSECS) konferenciát 52. alkalommal rendezik meg az Oxfordi Egyetemen 2023-ban. Ez a legrangosabb és legnagyobb európai rendezvény a 18. század brit történelem, irodalom és kultúra kutatás területén. A konferenciát a BSECS szervezi, mely a Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies-t is kiadja. Először tartanék előadást a 18. századi angol-magyar kapcsolatok témakörében, melynek során elemezném Magyarország és a magyarok korabeli angol sajtóban megjelenő reprezentációit, különös tekintettel a század utolsó két évtizedére amikor is felélénkültek az angol-magyar kapcsolatok. A Rákóczi-szabadságharc időszakát leszámítva ezzel a kutatási területtel eddig nem foglalkoztak sem brit, sem magyar kutatók behatóan. Cikkeket és egy kritikai forrásgyűjteményt szeretnék összeállítani és írni az utóbbi témában, valamint elérhetővé tenni a magyar vonatkozású újságcikkeket az AVOBMAT szövegbányászati alkalmazásban.
A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a látogatni tervezett nemzetközi rendezvényről, illetve a részvétel céljáról, várható eredményeiről. Két nemzetközi konferencián szeretnék előadást tartani.

Presentation of the international scientific/innovation event to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. I would like to deliver conference papers at two international conferences.

The aim of the biannual Digital Humanities Congress is organized by the Digitial Humanities Institute of Sheffield University is to promote the sharing of ideas, methods and techniques within the digital humanities. For the last 30 years this institute has coordinated the development of most of the British digital humanities databases. These activities are strongly related to the textmining project that I have been working on for the last 4 years. That’s why I propose to introduce the final version of the AVOBMAT (Analysis and Visulaization of Bibliographic Metadata and Texts, https://avobmat.hu/) multilingual research tool at this international digital humanities congress. Besides expanding my professional network, it would be crucial to popularize the application and receive feedback in order to circumscribe the future development and new features of this tool. Selected papers of the congress presentations are published in the Studies in the Digital Humanities journal.
2. The 52. annual conference of the British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (BSECS) will be held at the University of Oxford in 2023. This is Europe’s largest and most prestigious conference dealing with the history and literature of the long eighteenth century. The event is organized by the BSECS that publishes the Journal for Eighteenth-Century Studies. In case of successful application, I would give a paper about the representations of Hungary and Hungarians in 18th-century English press, in partular the last two decades of the century when Anglo-Hungarian contacts intensified. Besides the Rákóczi War of Independence, this research topic has not been explored by either British or Hungarian scholars. I would like to write articles and compile a primary resource edition concerning 18th-century English-Hungarian contacts, and make the Hungarian-related press material accessible in the AVOBMAT application.

Az 52. British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies oxfordi konferencián előadást tartottam „Representations of Hungary in the eighteenth-century British Press” címmel. Az előadásban eleddig ismeretlen, brit-magyar kulturális és gazdasági kapcsolatokat elemeztem hagyományos és digitális bölcsészeti módszerek (pl. témamodellezés, névelem-felismerés és n-gram elemzés) segítségével.
Részt vettem a Digital Humanities Kongresszuson a Sheffieldi Egyetemen, ahol a szakterület aktuális kérdéseiről, trendjeiről és kutatási problámáiról tájékozódhattam.

I delivered a paper entitled „Representations of Hungary in the 18th-century British Press” at the 52. British Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies conference in Oxford. I highlighted novel cultural and economic connections between Hungary and Great Britain by using traditional and digital humanities research methods.
I participated in Digital Humanities Congress at the University of Sheffield where I got to know the most recent projects, trends and research problems concerning the current state of digital humanities.
