A projekt keretében látogatni tervezett nemzetközi tudományos konferencia bemutatása és a tervezett részvétel ismertetése Mutassa be a nemzetközi rendezvény jellegét, célját, szervezőit és jelentőségét a nemzetközi tudományos életben. Ismertesse a részvétel célját (pl. előadás, poszter, egyéb aktivitás), a rendezvényen való részvétel várható hatását és jelentőségét a saját kutatói karrier építésében. A 15th Bratislava Symposium on Saccharides (15BSS) konferenciát a Szlovák Tudományos Akadémia, Kémiai Intézete (Szlovákia, Pozsony) szervezi Szomolányban (Smolenice, 2022 június 20-24). A BSS szimpóziumokat 1978 óta, 3 évente rendezik meg, a konferenciákon a környező országok szénhidrátkémiai szakértői vesznek részt, a szénhidrátkémia számos területéről pl.: szintézisek, szerkezetvizsgálat, glikobiológia. A konferencián poszter és az ehhez tartozó rövid előadás formájában tervezem bemutatni az anhidro-aldóz, illetve aldehid és keton tozilhidrazonok N-heterociklusokkal végzett kapcsolási reakcióit, amely a megfelelő β-D-glikopiranozilmetil-heterociklusokat, valamint a tetrazolokat és a triazolokat adják. A BSS konferencia egy kisebb létszámú jelenléti rendezvény, ezért a kutatási eredmények bemutatásán kívül, kapcsolatépítés szempontjából is jelentős. A XXX International Carbohydrate Symposium (ICS 2022) (Nemzetközi Szénhidrát Szimpózium) konferenciát az International Carbohydrate Organisation (Nemzetközi Szénhidrát Szervezet) rendezi Florianópolisban, Brazíliában (2022. július 10-14). A világ legszínvonalasabb szénhidrátkémiai konferenciáit, ICS szimpóziumokat 1962 óta 2 évente rendezik meg, ahol a legrangosabb szakértők mutatják be tudományos eredményeiket a szénhidrátok szerkezetével, biológiai szerepével, gyógyászatban történő alkalmazásával kapcsolatban, valamint a glikomimetikumok szintézisét. Ezen a konferencián is poszter formájában tervezem ismertetni az anhidro-aldóz tozilhidrazonokkal végzett kapcsolási reakcióinkat, amely egy teljesen új kutatási területe a szénhidrátkémiának, az így előállított vegyületek egyszerűbb és rövidebb szintézisutat jelenthetnek a glikomimetikumok felé. Továbbá szintén ismertetném tozilhidrazonok N-heterociklusokkal végzett kapcsolási reakcióit. Az ICS konferencia esetében egy rangos online konferencián mutathatom be a kutatási eredményeinket és elsőrangú előadások hallhatók a szénhidrátkémia számos területéről.
A projekt összefoglalója, célkitűzései laikusok számára Adjon egy rövid, közérthető ismertetést a látogatni tervezett nemzetközi rendezvényről, illetve a részvétel céljáról, várható eredményeiről. A szénhidrátoknak az élő szervezetben betöltött biológiai szerepe igen jelentős: amellett, hogy vázanyag, illetve (tartalék)tápanyag funkciót töltenek be, fontos szerepük van olyan, az élő sejtek felületén lejátszódó folyamatokban, mint például a sejtadhézió, a sejtosztódás kontakt gátlása, vírusok, baktériumok, hormonok, toxinok megkötődése a sejteken, az immunválasz kialakulása stb. Ezen jelenségek pontosabb megértéséhez elengedhetetlen a szénhidrátok biológiai szerepének molekuláris szintű megismerése. Ehhez szükség van az adott vegyületek, illetve azok alkotóelemeinek kémiai szintézisére, valamint az ezekkel szerkezetükben és vagy hatásukban analóg vegyületek (glikomimetikumok) előállítására. Kutatócsoportunkban egy szisztematikus kutatómunkába kezdtünk, amely során a cukor származékok kapcsolási reakcióit vizsgáljuk, ami egy teljesen új kutatási terület a szénhidrátkémiában. A konferenciákon az eddig elért eredményeinket ismertetném.

Presentation of the international scientific conference to be visited in the project and description of the proposed participation Present the type, purpose, organizers, and significance of the international event in the scientific community. Present the purpose of the participation (e.g., paper, poster, other activity), the expected impact of the participation in the event and its significance in building your own research career. The 15th Bratislava Symposium on Saccharides (15BSS) is organized by the Institute of Chemistry, Slovak Academy of Sciences, (Slovakia, Bratislava) in Smolenice (June 20-24, 2022). BSS symposia have been organized every 3 years since 1978. BSS symposia are attended by carbohydrate chemistry experts from the surrounding countries, from a wide range of fields such as synthesis, analyses, glycobiology. On the conference a poster and a short lecture are planned to present the coupling reactions of anhydro-aldose, aldehyde and ketone tosylhydrazones with N-heterocycles to give the corresponding β-D-glycopyranosylmethyl heterocycles, tetrazoles and triazoles. The meetings also provide a unique opportunity for young scientists to present their research and themself, and to establish the first international contacts. The XXX International Carbohydrate Symposium (ICS 2022) is organized by the International Carbohydrate Organization in Florianópolis, Brazil (July 10-14, 2022). The best carbohydrate chemistry conferences in the world, the ICS symposia, have been organized every 2 years since 1962, where the most prestigious experts present their results such as the biological roles and therapeutic use of carbohydrates, and synthesis of gylcomimetics. Also at this conference I plan to present our coupling reactions of anhydro-aldose tosylhydrazones in a poster, which is a completely new research area in carbohydrate chemistry, and these compounds may represent a simple and shorter synthetic way to the glycomimetics. Furthermore, the couplings of tosylhydrazones with N-heterocycles would also be described. The ICS 2022 is an online conference, where I can present our research. On the conference prestigious lectures can be heard from many areas of carbohydrate chemistry.
Summary and aims of the project for a general audience Provide a short, general introduction to the international event to be visited, the purpose of the participation, and its expected results. The biological role of carbohydrates in the living organisms is very significant: beside of their skeletal and nutritional functions, they play an important role in cell surface processes such as cell adhesion, contact inhibition of cell division, binding of viruses, bacteria, hormones, and toxins to the cells, eliciting the immune response etc. For understanding these phenomena as well as the biological roles of carbohydrates, it is necessary to synthesize carbohydrate derivatives which, due to their unprecedented structure, may give rise to new biological effects. In our research group we started a systematic study to investigate the applicability of sugar derivatives in coupling reactions, which is a completely new area of carbohydrate chemistry. I would present our resutes at the conferences.

A konferencián a „Catalyst-free coupling reactions for the synthesis of C-(β-D-glycopyranosyl)methyl-triazoles, -tetrazoles and alkyl/aryl substituted tetrazoles” és az „Unexpected reactions of N-(2,3,4,6-tetra-O-acyl-β-D-glycopyranosylcarbonyl)-N’-tosylhydrazones with N-, O-nucleophiles” című posztereket mutattam be. A BSS konferencia egy kisebb létszámú jelenléti rendezvény, ezért a kutatási eredmények bemutatásán kívül, kapcsolatépítés szempontjából is jelentős volt.
