(1) Felhasználva az erősen korrelált rendszerekben fellelhető univerzalitási tulajdonságokat, bővítettük a fluktuáció-eloszlásokkal kapcsolatos skálafüggvények képtárát, s meghatároztuk a fluktuációk extrém értékeinek eloszlását 1/f-alfa típusú zajt mutató rendszerekre. Eredményeink hasznosnak bizonyultak például a számítógépek szinkronizációjával kapcsolatos optimalizációs problémák jobb megértésében. (2) A nemegyensúlyi reakció-diffúziós dinamikában gyakran megjelenő frontok, illetve a frontok mögött megjelenő mintázatok kontrolljára kidolgoztunk új változatokat.
Results in English
We have developed the theory of stationary and quasi-stationary nonequilibrium states in two directions. (1) Using the universality properties of strongly correlated systems, we extended the picture gallery of scaling functions associated with nonequilibrium fluctuations and determined the distribution of extrem values of the fluctuations for systems displaying 1/f-alpha noise. Our results proved to be useful for example in understanding the problems related to the synchronization properties of computers working in parallel. (2) We have worked out new ways for control of precipitation patterns (Liesegang patterns) which emerge in the wake of moving reaction-diffusion fronts. The effect of an external electric field was determined and we also calculated the possibility of control through the fine-tuning the concentrations of the reagents. A new control-mechanism was considered by introducing a ''guiding field'' (temperature- or diffusive pH-changing reagent) whose local concentration is coupled to the relevant (Liesegang) reagents through changing e.g. the reaction thresholds. We showed that, in physically easily realizable experimental setup, such a field can produce the so called inverse patterns which so far eluded explanation.
