Final report

Az optikailag tiszta királis anyagok (gyógyszerek, növényvédő szerek, illatanyagok, színezékek) iránti igény napjainkban fokozatosan növekszik. Ennek legfőbb oka, hogy egy aszimmetrikus vegyület két enantiomerje (tükörképi módosulata) biológiai rendszerekben teljesen eltérően viselkedhet. A kutatásaink célja az igen magas enantioszelektivitással lejátszódó reakciók, az alfa oxovegyületek cinkona alkaloidok jelenlétében végrehajtott heterogén katalitikus aszimmetrikus hidrogénezési reakciójának minél mélyebb megismerése. Céljaink között szerepel a fent említett molekulák esetén a királis indukcióért felelős intermedierek szerkezetének meghatározása, igazolása, és a jelenleg is vitatott mechanisztikus kép jobb megismerése. Az új eredmények, vagyis a szubsztrát-módosító-katalizátor közötti kölcsönhatások feltérképezése, hozzájárulhatnak egyéb, nagy enantioszelektivitású rendszerek kidolgozásához.

The preparation of optically pure pharmaceuticals or agrochemicals, is one of the most important areas in chemical research. It is known that two enantiomers of a chiral compound interact in different ways in living organisms. Although the first steps in asymmetric hydrogenation of activated ketones over cinchona alkaloid-modified platinum catalysts were reported more then twenty years ago the topic still receives significant attention. The major thrust of our work is to get more information concerning the structure of the chiral modifier plays a decisive role in enantioselection, manifold experiments have been conducted and are in progress to get a better understanding of the relationship between ee and the structure of the chiral modifier. In this way we could widen the type of substrates in the Pt-cinchona catalyzed hydrogenation.
