A multiréteges szerkezetek jelentős szabadenergia felesleggel rendelkeznek. A pályázatban a nanoméretű multirétegekben lejátszódó szilárdtest reakciók, illetve diffúziós folyamatok néhány fontos alapkérdésével foglalkoztam. Vizsgáltuk a diffúziós együttható erős koncentráció függéséből származó diffúziós nem-linearitásokat, a diffúziós keveredés és a spinodális bomlás/szegregáció kölcsönhatását, kalkogenid multirétegekben az optikai tulajdonságok változását. Kalkogenid multirétegek előállítása során kidolgoztunk egy eljárást, mellyel a termikus párologtatással előállított mintáknál jelentősen jobb és élesebb határfelületekkel rendelkező rétegeket lehet készíteni. Az így előállított Se0.6Te0.4/SiOx multirétegeben lézer fénnyel történő megvilágítás hatására szemcseméret növekedés volt figyelhető meg, mely jelentősen megváltoztatta a rétegek optikai tulajdonságait adattároló lemezek esetében e jelenség gyors írásra adva lehetőséget.
kutatási eredmények (angolul)
The multilayers as artificial, compositionally modulated materials are not equilibrium structures, they have significant free energy surplus. The main sources of the free energy are the energy of the interfaces, stresses and the chemical energy surplus of the modulated structures in comparison with the mixed structures. For this reason microstructural changes are expected. In the frame of this project the solid state reactions and diffusion processes on nanoscale in multilayers was investigated: the strong concentration dependence of the interdiffusion coefficients, the non-linearity of the diffusion process, and the effect of the diffusion produced on the spinodial decomposition/segregation and the changes of optical parameters in chalcogenide multilayers. We have developed the pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method for preparing multilayers from amorphous chalcogenides with improved structural characteristics (better periodicity and quality of interfaces) in comparison with thermal evaporation method. It was also established that stimulated crystallization processes in an amorphous Se0.6Te0.4/SiOx model material that easily undergo stimulated crystallization depend on the presence of matrix in the nano-layered structure which enables additional operation of the optical recording in this type of chalcogenide materials for data storage.
