magyar összefoglaló
Kölcsönható részecskerendszerek hidrodinamikai leírása: a nemegyensúlyi stat. fiz. matematikailag szigorú elméletének egyik centrális problémája a hidrodinamika parciális diffegyenleteinek levezetése mikroszkópikus elvekből. Hiperbolikus skálázású rendszerek esetén a hidrodinamikai limesz (hdl) elvben hiperbolikus megmaradási törvényekhez vezet. Ezek hírhedten nehéz pde problémák, mivel a megoldások tipikusan szingularitásokat, lökéshullámokat produkálnak. E pde-k levezetése hdl útján lényegében nyitott kérdés. Fritz, ill. Fritz és Tóth, továbbá egy kapcsolódó kérdéskörben Tóth és Valkó kut. tervben idézett frissebb eredményei jelentős előrelépések. E kutatások folytatását tervezzük: (1) Lax-Smoller maximum elvének mezoszkópikus verzióját tervezzük bizonyítani sztochasztikus hiperbolikus részecskerendszerekre, (2) Oleinik entrópia feltételének hasonló kiterjesztését tervezzük, (3) a lokális egyensúlyi eloszlástól való eltérés relatív entrópia becslését tervezzük a lökéshullámok tartományában. Szintén kölcsönható részecskerendszerek egyensúlyi és nemegyensúlyi fluktuációit vizsgáljuk. Balázs kut. tervben idézett cikkei a problémakör jelentős eredményei. E kutatásokat tervezzük folytatni. Főbb kérdések: (1) határeloszlástétel a részecskeáram fluktuációira a véletlen átlagolási folyamatban, (2) lökéshullámok mikroszkópikus struktúrájának vizsgálata a másodosztályú részecske módszerével, (3) a hidrodinamikai pde-ben megjelenő makroszkópikus fluxus konvexitásának vizsgálata.
angol összefoglaló
Hydrodynamic description of interacting particle systems: derivation of the partial differential equations of hydrodynamics from microscopic principles is a central problem of mathematically rigorous fromulation of nonequilibrium statistical physics. Hydrodynamic limits (hdl) of interacting particle systems wich obey hyperbolic scaling lead to hyperbolic systems of conservation laws. These are notoriously difficult pde problems, since they typically produce singularities called shock waves. Derivation of these pde-s via hdl is essentially open. Recent results of Fritz, Fritz-Tóth, resp., Tóth-Valkó cited in the datailed research plan are important achievments. We plan continuation of this research: (1) we plan to prove a mezoscopic version of the Lax-Smoller maximum principle for hyperbolic interacting particle syetms; (2) we plan similar extension of the Oleinik entropy condition; (3) we plan to investigate the distance from the local equilibrium measure in the range of shock waves.
Equilibrium and non-equilibrium fluctuations of interacting particle systems: Recent papers of Balázs cited in the detailed research plan contain important results in this respect. We plan to continue this research. Main questions: (1) limit theorem for the particle flux in the random averaging process; (2) investigation of the microscopic structure of shock waves with help of second-class particles; (3) investigation of convexity of the macroscopic flux appearing in the hydrodynamic pde-s.

kutatási eredmények (magyarul)
Nem-reverzibilis kölcsönható részecske rendszerek dinamikájának létezését bizonyítottuk, ergodikus tulajdonságait vizsgáltuk, egyensúlyi fluktuációit írtuk le. A Kardar-Paris-Zhang fluktuációelmélet érvényességének bizonyításához járultunk hozzá.
We proved existence of dynamics for non-reversible interacting particle systems, investigated their ergodic properties, described their equilibrium fluctuations. We contributed to the proof of validity of Kardar-Parisi-Zhang fluctuation theory. We described the asymptotics of exchangeable measures from models of statistical physics. We established hydrodynamic limits for hyperbolic systems, by use of the method of compensated compactness and relaxation schemes. We investigated asymptotics of self-interacting random walks and diffusions with long memory. We proved superdiffusive, resp., diffusive behavior in one and two, resp., three and more dimensions. We extended the conditions of validity of a Kipnis-Varadhan type theorem. We introduced and investigated a new class of self-interacting random walks. We characterized long time asymptotics of randomly growing networks, using generalized branching processes. We proved self-organized criticality in a mean field forest fire model (extension of Erdős-Rényi random graph model) and in a frozen percolation model. We extended and applied the limit theory of dense graphs to dynamically evolving graph models. We proved limit theorems for the point process of eigenvalues of GUE and related random matrix models, by introducing and applying the Brownian Carousel process. We described the asymptotics of the spectrum of random Schrödinger operators. We provided a mathematical model of CDO and analyzed it numerically.
