Summary in Hungarian
A vizsgált rendszerek értelmezésében nemzetközileg elismert kutatókkal működöm együtt.
A kutatás eredményeképp várhatólag jelentősen pontosítani tudjuk majd az e rendszerek leírására szolgáló modelleket.
Summary
The aim of the research is to study certain non-conventional magnets. I intend to investigate magnetic nanoparticles, molecular and low dimensional magnets and a few such systems where the spins interact with other degrees of freedom. The principal tool of research is electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. Most experiments will be carried out at the multi-frequency ESR spectrometer developed at the Physics Institute of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, but I am also going to collaborate with other known Hungarian and foreign laboratories. The ESR spectra will be modeled mostly by software developed by myself. I will collaborate in the interpretation of the results with acknowledged experts of the field.
As a result of this research, I expect to significantly improve the models describing these systems.

Final report

Results in Hungarian
A pályázat keretein belül nem konvencionális mágnesek és egyéb anomális mágneses viselkedésű rendszerek elektronspin-rezonancia (ESR) spektroszkópiás vizsgálatát végeztük, illetve fejlesztettük a BME Fizikai Intézetében működő multifrekvenciás ESR spektrométerünket (érzékenység javítása, goniométer és nyomáscella kifejlesztése). A vizsgált rendszerek a molekuláris mágnesek, alacsony dimenziós szerkezetek, frusztrált szerkezetek, más szabadsági fokokkal kölcsönható spineket tartalmazó rendszerek és anomális szupravezetők. A kísérletek alapján nagy mértékben (akár nagyságrendekkel is) sikerült pontosítanunk többet a vizsgált rendszereket leíró modellek közül.
Results in English
In the framework of the proposal we have studied non conventional magnets and other systems showing anomalous magnetic behavior by electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy. We also developed our ESR spectrometer operating at the Institute of Physics of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (including improving its sensitivity, constructing a goniometer and a pressure cell). The systems studied are molecular magnets, low dimensional systems, frustrated systems, systems containing spins interacting with other degrees of freedom and anomalous superconductors. Based on the experiments we have succeeded to largely (even by orders of magnitude) improve the precision of several of the models describing the systems studied.
