magyar összefoglaló
The main aim of the present collaboration plan is to establish a strong working connection between two groups with long traditions in studying fundamental atomic collision processes. Both participating groups are part of the Stored Particle Atomic Research Collaboration (SPARC) formed around the new international facility for anti-proton and ion research(FAIR) at the Gesellschaft für Schwerionenforschung(GSI) will open up exciting and far reaching prospects for atomic physics research in the realm of ion-atom collisions.

From the rich research programs of the partners, we selected two topics for common work. One of them is the double ionization of helium under the impact of energetic projectiles. The study is focused on exploring signatures of initial state correlation in the total and differential cross sections of ejected electrons. The ejection of electrons are treated within frame of con-tinuum distorted wave models using different types correlated and non-correlated wave functions for the unperturbed atomic states both in the initial and final channels.

The other field, where we intend to collaborate is the study of the higher order processes in ionization of atoms and molecules. This is the main topic of the running OTKA project, which we would like to extend by the help of the present collaboration. The Hungarian side is strong in experiments, but up to now, no satisfactory quantum calculations are available for describing higher order interference effects in the ionization of H2 molecules [6], or for the multiple scattering of electrons by colliding ionic cores [7]. These phenomena represent a great challenge for theory.

kutatási eredmények (magyarul)
A projekt keretében több személyes találkozó során alakítottunk ki a SPARC (Stored Particle Atomic Physics Research Collaboration) kollaborációhoz kapcsolódó mérések és elméleti számolások terveit az e-2e folyamatok inverz kinematika mellett történő tanulmányozására kvázi elektronok és ionok ütközéseiben tárológyűrűknél. Nemzetközi konferencia-szekciókat szerveztünk a SPARC körüli tervek széleskörű bemutatására. Rendszeresen részt vettünk más SPARC találkozókon is, ahol terveinket másokkal is megvitattuk. Együttműködésünk nem bilaterális, másokkal közös tervek kialakítására is sor került. A projekt keretében elvégzett kísérleti és elméleti munkák is a leendő SPARC együttműködéshez kapcsolódnak, ezek tervei is a közös vitákban születtek meg, részben most végezzük őket, részben közlés előtt vagy alatt állnak. Terveink, megfontolásaink egy részét publikáltuk, illetve több előadásban, vitában ismertettük.

Within the framework of the project, we organized a series of short bilateral meetings for working out the research plans connected to the future experimental work to study quasy-electron - ion collisions in inverse kinematics at storage rings, within the framework of the Stored Particle Atomic Physics Research Collaboration (SPARC). We jointly organized con-ference sessions for discussing SPARC related physics and instrumental plans. We regularly attended other SPARC meetings, where we discussed our plans in a wider community. Our collaboration is not only bilateral, we discussed and formed common plans with third parties too. The performed research is also strongly connected to the future work within the SPARC collaboration, their plans have been formed in our common discussions. Some of them we are still working on, some are before or under publication. Part of our considerations and plans have been published and disseminated in talks and discussions.
