A sumer egyike a világ legelső írott nyelveinek. A pályázat célja a sumer igei morfológia diakrón vizsgálata az összes sumer király felirat annotált, nyelvtanilag és morfológialag elemzett, transzliterált, kétnyelvű (sumer-angol), párhuzamos szövegkorpusza alapján. A korpusz létrehozása maga is fontos része a pályázatnak. Ez a szövegcsoport majd ezer évet ölel át, ami ideálissá teszi történeti nyelvészet kutatások számára. A korpusz szisztematikus nyelvtani és morfológia elemzése várhatóan a sumer ige mostaniaknál megbízhatóbb nyelvészeti leírásához vezet. Ugyanakkor az annotált korpusz rendkívül sokoldalú kutatóeszközzé válik, melyet a pályázat két téma kutatására kíván felhasználni: i) az adverbiális igei szereplők igei egyeztetésének rendszere és fejlődése, ii) a főnévi és igei szám kategóriája a sumerben. A sumer királyfeliratok elektronikus korpusza a Cuneiform Digital Library (http://cdl.museum.upenn.edu/) részeként valósul meg. Követi annak formáját és előírásait, de kiegészíti azt a szavak morfológiai elemzésével, melyet morfológia glosszákkal lát el. A pályázat a nyelvtani kutatás eredményeit két monográfiában és szakcikkekben kívánja megjelentetni. A pályázat eredményeként létrejön egy filológiailag megbízható elektronikus szövegkorpusz is, mely bárki számára elérhető lesz a világhálón keresztül.
Summary
Sumerian is among the world’s first written languages. This application plans to conduct a diachronic study of Sumerian verbal morphology based on the use of an annotated, grammatically and morphologically analyzed, transliterated, bilingual (Sumerian-English), parallel corpus of all Sumerian royal inscriptions. The development of this corpus is a major part of the prosposal. This group of Sumerian texts spans almost one thousand years, making it an ideal object of diachronic linguistic studies. It is envisaged that the systematic grammatical and morphological analysis of the corpus will lead to a description of Sumerian verb that is linguistically more solid than the existing ones. At the same time the annotated corpus will become a powerful research tool which will be used to carry out research i) on the system and development of verbal cross-reference of adverbial participants, and ii) on the category of nominal and verbal number in Sumerian. The electronic corpus of Sumerian royal inscriptions is planed to be developed as part of the Cuneiform Digital Library (http://cdl.museum.upenn.edu/) following its format and guidelines but adding morphological analysis to every word form accompanied by a morpheme-by-morpheme glossing. The results of the grammatical research will be published in two monographs and in articles. The project will also produce a philologically reliable electronic corpus of Sumerian royal inscriptions accessible for anyone on the internet.

A projekt létrehozott egy annotált, nyelvtanilag és morfológiailag elemzett, átírásos, háromnyelvű (sumer-magyar-angol) párhuzamos szövegkorpuszt, mely jelenleg több mint 1300 sumer királyfeliratot tartalmaz. A világhálón szabadon elérhető online korpusz, “The Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Royal Inscriptions” (http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/etcsri), egy nagy nemzetközi project, “The Open Richly Annotated Cuneiform Corpus” (http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/), keretében készült. A kutatási eszközként működő korpusz az egyetlen online korpusz, mely kereshetővé teszi a sumer szövegeket a grafémák, a lemmák, a morfémák és a morfológiai glosszák szintjén.
A korpuszt használva, a projekt két fő témában végzett kutatásokat: a) “A főnévi és igei szám grammatikai kategóriája a sumerben”, és b) “Az adverbiális ige szereplők igei jelölésének rendszere és változása”.

The project created an annotated, grammatically and morphologically analyzed, transliterated, trilingual (Sumerian-English-Hungarian), parallel corpus of more than 1300 Sumerian royal inscriptions. The freely available online corpus, “The Electronic Text Corpus of Sumerian Royal Inscriptions” (http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/etcsri) is part of a large international project called “The Open Richly Annotated Cuneiform Corpus” (http://oracc.museum.upenn.edu/). The corpus, functioning as a research tool, is the only online corpus in the world that makes Sumerian texts researchable on the level of graphemes, lemmas, morphemes, and morphological glosses.
Using the corpus, the project carried out research mainly on two subjects: a) “The grammatical category of nominal and verbal number in Sumerian” and b) “The system and development of verbal cross-reference of adverbial participants”.
