A késő vaskori elit kutatásának Európában két fontos forrása van; a városias központok (oppidumok) és a gazdag mellékletes sírokkal jellemezhető nekropoliszok. Programunk mindkét altémában előre kíván lépni, egyfelől a Bibracte-i magyar ásatási területen feltárt épület-együttesek feldolgozásával, másfelől a Povegliano - Veronese mellett magyar-olasz együttműködésben kutatott, rendkívül gazdag temetkezéseket tartalmazó késő vaskori temető feltárásának befejezésével és közlésre való előkészítésével. A franciaországi Mont Beuvray (az ókori Bibracte) késő vaskori városias településén 1988 óta folynak ásatások az Európai Régészeti Központ és az ELTE Régészettudományi Intézete együttműködésében. 2000-2008 között az ásatás-sorozat egy, a mérsékeltövi Európában a maga nemében teljesen egyedülálló bazilika-típusú épület azonosításához vezetett. Programunkban a helyi arisztokrácia igényeit, a Mediterráneummal való kapcsolatait tükröző épület környezetének feltáró kutatását, illetve a bazilika régészeti értelmezését, részletes építészeti vizsgálatát, valamint a feltárt leletanyag kiértékelését tűztük ki célul. Az ELTE és a Bolognai egyetem (Universita di Studii di Bologna, Dipartimento di Archeologia) közös expedíciója 2007 és 2008 nyarán 159 objektumot, döntő többségében sírt tárt fel a Verona közelében található Povegliano-Veronese település területén. A feltárások 2009-re tervezett befejezését követően megkezdjük a részletes régészeti feldolgozást, amelynek kiemelt része az esetenként 100-nál is több fémedény-mellékletet tartalmazó arisztokrata sírok vizsgálata. A poveglianoi temetőben előforduló sírok és a bennük feltárt mellékletek különbözősége egyértelműen a korszak társadalmi rétegződésére utal, s így kiváló lehetőséget biztosít a veronai síkság más észak-itáliai sírleletek alapján is egyre pontosabban jellemezhető ún. kelta „arisztokráciájának“ kutatásához.
Summary
The European research of the Late Iron Age elite society has two mainstreams: the research of the urbanized centres (oppida) and of the cemeteries rich in finds. Our programme is aimed to have an advancement in both of them. The analysis of the basilica of Bibracte and its close neighbourhood at the Hungarian excavation-sector and the completion and publication of the exploration of the very rich Late Iron Age cemetery at Povegliano-Veronese being excavated in the cadre of a Hungarian-Italian cooperation.
The excavations of the Hungarian-French cooperation of the ELTE University of Budapest and the European Archaeological Centre started in 1988 at the Late Iron Age urbanized settlement on the Mont Beuvray in France. The series of excavations between 2000 and 2008 have revealed a basilical building which represents a very unique type in the tempered zone of Europe. Our programme has taken aim at the mapping of the needs of the local aristocracy, the exploration of the environment of the basilical building as well as the analysis of its reflections of the Mediterranian world. This is completed by the archaeological interpretation of the plot with a complex architectural analysis and the processing of the finds.
The joint expedition of the ELTE University and the University of Bologna (Universita di Studii di Bologna, Dipartimento di Archeologia) has explored 159 archaeological objects (the majority of them are graves) in 2007-2008 at Povegliano near to Verona. After the end of the excavation in 2009 we are about to begin the archaeological processing of the finds. A very important feature is the detailed analysis of the graves of the local elite which contained sometimes more, than 100 metal vessels. The differences between the contents of the graves point to the social stratification of the period. This is a very good ground for the research of the ’Celtic aristocracy’ of the Veronese plain which can be compared with the grave finds of the Northern Italy.

1. A bibractei alprogram a terveknek megfelelően megvalósult. A magyar ásatás számára kijelölt terület feltárása lezárult. Ez a « Pâture du Couvent » zónájában található római köztársaságkori épületegyüttes egészére vonatkozik. Elkészült a kiásott objektumok felmérése, és a grafikai rekonstrukció.
Elvégeztük a teljes régészeti leletanyag tisztítását, osztályozását, valamint a számítógépes adatbázisba való felvételét, A publikálás területén kiemelkedő eredmény a magyar ásatás teljes kerámiaanyagának önálló könyv formájában való megjelentetése. Minden évben publikálásra kerütek az ásatás tudományos beszámolói, 2013 nyarán pedig megszületett a monumentális épületegyüttes egészét tárgyaló szintézis, amelyet a bibractei központ 2014-ben ad ki.
2. A Poveglianói alprogram – a restaurálás miatti csúszást nem számítva – a terveknek megfelelően megvalósult. A tudományos katalógus összeállításához számítógépes adatbázis, valamint teljes rajzi és fotódokumentáció készült. Tankó Éva elvégezte a hamvasztásos temetkezések antropológiai vizsgálatát, az egyének nem- és életkor meghatározását. Gherdán Kata elkészítette a kerámiák petrográfiai vizsgálatát. Az eredményekről több tanulmány jelent meg, illetve áll megjelenés alatt.
3. A kutatási téma kiterjesztéseként a ludasi temető feldolgozásával elindítottuk a keleti kelta elit kutatását. Egy összefoglaló és több részlettanulmány készült, amely a Kárpát-medence kelta kori társadalmi struktúráját vizsgálja, megjelenésük 2014-ben várható.
Results in English
1. We have proceeded with the Bibracte subproject according to our schedule. The excavation has been finished in the area designated to the Hungarian team consisting of the whole Roman Republician complex in the ‘Pâture du Couvent. The survey and the graphic reconstruction of the excavated structures as well as the sorting and registering of the finds in a database was done. There is an important result of our research, that the whole of the ceramic finds has been published in form of a monography. The excavation reports were published each year and in the summer of 2013 we have prepared the synthesis on the results of the monumental building complex, which will be published in 2014.
2. We have proceeded with the Bibracte subproject according to our schedule, with the exception of the delay caused by the restoration of the finds. For the scientific catalogue’s completion we built a database and created the full graphic and photo documentation. Éva Tankó has prepared the anthropological survey of the cremation burials, identified the age and gender of the individuals. Katalin Gherdán finished the pertrographical analysis of the pottery. The results were published in a number of papers.
3. With an expansion of the research project, we started the research of the Eastern Celtic elite with the study of the Celtic cemetery at Ludas. A monography and other studies were prepared on the Celtic Age society’s structure in the Carpathian basin, their publication is envisaged in 2014.
