"Búcsú - eredet - hagyomány. A csíksomlyói pünkösdi búcsújárás története a kezdetektől 1949-ig" c. könyvem sok éves munka eredménye, alapkutatás. A szakirodalomban a téma első összefoglalása. Forrásként főként a régebbi korok írásai szolgáltak, a publikáltak mellett jelentős szerepet kapott az 1950 és 1949 közötti sajtó, több tucatnyi újság számos évfolyama, továbbá levéltári forrásanyag is. A könyv fejezetei: Bevezetés; Intézményes keretek; Források a búcsújárásról; Eredettörténet; Alakulástörténet; Résztvevők; Idő és szervezés; Összefoglalás. Az eredmények számos ponton új megvilágításba helyezik eddigi ismereteinket a csíksomlyói búcsújárásról. A szakirodalom jegyzéke egyúttal csaknem teljességre törekvő bibliográfia, a táblázatok és időrendi áttekintés a pontosabb tájékoztatást szolgálja. A kötetet mintegy 120 egykorú fénykép illusztrálja, nagyobb részük eddig közöletlen volt, archívumokból származik.
Summary
My book with the title "Pilgrimage - origin - tradition. The history of pentecost pilgrimage to Csíksomlyó from the beginning to 1949" is a result of a long-time work on the topic, basic research, the first synthesis in the literature. Among the sources there are publications from the past, manuscripts, and a huge corpus of texts from newspapers and periodicals between 1850 and 1949, also documents from archives. The chapters of the book: Introduction; Institutions; Sources on the pilgrimage; The story of origin; The history of transformations; The participants of the pilgrimage; Time and organisation; Conclusion. My results can throw new light upon our recent knowledge on the pentecost pilgrimage. The list of the referated literarature is practically a full bibliography on the topic; the tables and chronological tables serve the better orientation. The book is illustrated with about 120 contemporary photos from differenc archives, most of them unpublished yet.

Mohay Tamás: A csíksomlyói pünkösdi búcsújárás. Történet, eredet, hagyomány. c. könyve megjelent 2009. májusában a Nyitott Könyv-L'harmattan kiadásában. Terjedelme 380 olda, benne 116 fekete-fehér fénykép.
A várnál gyorsabb megjelenés nem tette lehetővé, hogy a kötetbe bekerüljön az OTKA támogatás ténye. Ezt Szigeti István osztályvezető úr 2009. augusztus 25-i e-mailjében regisztrálta, egyúttal közölte: "Ezúttal az OTKA Bizottság elnöke különleges esetként engedélyezte az ettől való eltekintést, de amennyiben további OTKA támogatást nyer el, nyomatékosan kérjük, hogy erre a szabályra legyenek tekintettel." Minderre tekintettel természetesen minden könyvbemutatón elhangzott a támogatás ténye (Csíkszeredában, Kolozsvárott. stb.).

The fact that the book was published faster did not allowed that the fact of the OTKA grant could be included int he volume. Mr. István Szigeti registered this in his e-mail written 25th August 2009 and also wrote: „This time the President of OTKA Committe authorized to waive this, buti f it wins more support from OTKA, do so having regard to the rule.”
