Summary in Hungarian
A csuka (Esox lucius) hazánk egyik legjelentősebb ragadozó halfaja.
Summary
The pike (Esox lucius) is one of the most important carnivorous fish species of Hungary. Distribution of this fish on the market has been inhibited by the lack of the intensive large scale production technology. There is no doubt that pike is one of the more difficult species to rear under controlled conditions. In the last decade it was a breakthrough in this field. There is no commercial feed for pike at the moment so feeding of pike is possible only diet optimized for other species. Development of optimal feed for pike (producing in sustainable way) would be a great leap forward for the intensive production. During our work the optimal protein to energy ratio for pike will be determined. And also the effects of vegetable protein supplementation will be examined.
